ANDERSON, S.C., April 7 (UPI) -- Police said they arrested the parents of a 4-year-old girl who was left abandoned on the front porch of a South Carolina home.
After four days of searching for clues about the girl, Anderson County (S.C.) sheriff's investigators identified her Saturday as Zoe Brown, the Anderson Independent Mail reported.
Brown was discovered Tuesday night on the front porch of Roy Campbell with a note saying "Call DCAF," or the Department of Children and Families, ABC News reported.
Campbell said he has no familial or social relations to Zoe and called authorities.
Though she is 4 years old, Zoe wears clothing meant for 24-month-old children and has scars on her chest indicating past heart surgery. Police said her parents did not leave information with the young girl regarding medication she requires.
The sheriff's department posted a photograph of the girl on its Facebook page, searching for clues to her identity. Four days later and nearly 2 million reposts of the photograph online, police were able to identify her and her parents.
Zoe's father, Alonzo Brown, 31, of Marietta, Ga., was charged with unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person and was being held at Anderson County Detention Center, the Independent Mail reported.
He was denied bail and his next court hearing is scheduled for May 3, the newspaper said.
The girl's mother, Tongela Denise McBride, 37, faces the same charge and was being held at Cobb County (Ga.) Detention Center where she is waiting extradition to South Carolina.
